1. Introduction & Scope

The Command Secondary School Abakaliki Alumni Association (“CSSA Alumni”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all alumni members across all graduating sets (from our 1989 Pioneer Set “Ancestors” to recent graduates). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, store, and safeguard your personal data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and international data protection standards (including UK/EU GDPR for our diaspora chapters).

2. Information We Collect

• Identity & School Heritage Records: Title, First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Maiden Name (née) for married female alumni, School Nickname, Admission Number, Year Admitted, Year Graduated, Class Set, School House (Dragon, Flying Horse, Tiger, Octopus, or Palm House), Final Class, and Prefect/Club positions held at Command Secondary School Abakaliki.
• Contact & Professional Details: Email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, residential city/state/country, regional chapter, occupation, job title, company, and optional social media links.
• Financial & Dues Records: Payment references, Paystack transaction metadata, manual bank transfer teller/NIP session numbers, uploaded payment receipt images, and official CSSA Alumni receipts. (We do not store raw debit/credit card numbers; all online card transactions are processed securely by Paystack.)
• Electronic Voting Records: Encrypted ballot participation records for National EXCO and Chapter elections to enforce one-member-one-vote integrity.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To verify your status as an authentic past student of Command Secondary School Abakaliki.
• To power the searchable Alumni Directory so classmates can reconnect by name, maiden name, graduating set, or school house.
• To process annual membership dues, development levies, and project endowments and issue official receipts.
• To administer secure, transparent electronic voting during National EXCO elections.
• To send official association communiqués, AGM notices, and payment confirmations.

4. Member Directory Privacy Controls

You have direct control over what information is visible to other members in the Alumni Directory via your Member Profile Settings:

• You can toggle whether your profile is listed in the public Alumni Directory.
• You can independently show or hide your Phone Number and Email Address in the directory at any time.

5. Data Sharing & Security

CSSA Alumni never sells, rents, or trades member data to third-party marketers. Data is accessed strictly by authorized National Secretariat officers, Electoral Commissioners (for voter accreditation), and verified payment processors (Paystack). All passwords are encrypted using cryptographic hashing, and uploaded images are optimized and stored securely.

6. Your Rights & Contact Information

You may view, update, or request the deletion of your personal data at any time through your profile dashboard or by contacting the National Secretariat at secretariat@cssaalumni.org.
